KDC Board Membership – Call for nominations

The Kimberley Development Commission is seeking nominations to fill one community position on the Kimberley Development Commission Board.

The Kimberley Development Commission (KDC) is a Statutory Authority established under the Regional Development Commissions Act 1993. Our purpose is to promote balanced economic and social development in the Kimberley region.

Our objectives include maximising job creation, broadening local economies, identifying the need for infrastructure and services, providing information and advice to business and ensuring equitable access to government services. We also promote and facilitate effective partnerships between government and regional communities.

The Commission is seeking nominations from highly motivated and enthusiastic people who can demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Knowledge and experience relevant to our region;
  • Integrity in all decision-making and high ethical standards;
  • Demonstrated involvement in the economic and social development of our region; and
  • Ability to work cooperatively to achieve shared goals across a wide range of economic and social development issues.

People may nominate themselves or others and organisations may choose to nominate individuals.

Terms of appointment will be from one to three years and nominees must live in the Kimberley region.

The Minister for Regional Development, Hon Alannah MacTiernan MLC will make the appointment to the Board after consultation with the WA Cabinet.
