Airports

The Kimberley has an extensive network of airports and airstrips, including all-weather jet airports at Broome, Derby and Kununurra. Smaller, though sealed, regional airstrips are available at Fitzroy Crossing, Halls Creek and Wyndham. The region is also serviced by a network of landing areas suitable for general aviation aircraft.

Passenger Services
Regular passenger jet services are provided to the region from Perth, Darwin, Adelaide (seasonal) and Alice Springs.

  • Qantas operates flights between Broome - Perth, Broome - Melbourne, Broome - Sydney.

  • Virgin Blue operates flights between Broome - Perth.

  • Airnorth (Qantas Airlink) operates flights between Broome - Kununurra, Kununurra - Darwin.

  • Golden Eagle Airlines operates a Broome - Derby service and Broome - Fitzroy Crossing - Halls Creek service.

  • Northwest Regional Airlines operates regular public transport services between Broome, Port Hedland, Karratha, Exmouth, Fitzroy Crossing, Halls Creek and Kununurra.

  • Skywest Aviation operates regular flights between Broome - Perth, Broome - Darwin, Perth - Exmouth - Broome, Perth - Port Headland - Broome and Perth - Kununurra.

  • OzJet operates flights between Perth - Derby

Air Charter
A range of local charter businesses provide services into and across the region.

The Ibis Aerial Highway is a network of airstrips located at remote communities, homesteads, national parks and other places of interests to facilitate air access throughout the region. Many locations have connections to local ground transport and tour operations, allowing easy access for visitors touring the remote areas and attractions.
