224,000 square kilometres of Kimberley land has been tenured as
pastoral lease, that is the land has been classified primarily for
the grazing of stock. Members of the public do not have open access
to this land.
Permission is not required for travel on public roads, but all
other roads within pastoral areas should be considered private.
Entry on to pastoral lease land without the pastoral lessee's
authority or permission is trespassing.
Travellers should remain aware that people living on these leases
have the right and need to carry on their pastoral business in as
unfettered a manner as possible and to enjoy a reasonable measure
of privacy.
